For Sale: Jaegers 6" F8 Refractor

I'm asking $1200 plus shipping for my classic 6" F8 Jaegers refractor in a lovely, baffled Midnight Purple tube. The optics are coated and the coatings are in good to very good condition. The tube has a nice dew shield extension. The standard Jaegers 2.7" focuser actually works fairly well! Also includes a nice custom made padded oak carry/storage case, two sets of generic 7 inch rings, and a 6x30 Parks finder with matching paint.

I need to note that there is one very minor 1/2 to 3/4 inch scratch on the optics. It is actually between the two lenses and is not obvious at all. I don't know how it got there and it was there when I bought it two years ago. No one has ever noticed just by casually looking at the optics and it does not affect performance at all. But it is there and I wanted the buyer to know about it!

I have used this scope primarily as a low to medium power instrument under very dark skies at Spruce Knob, WV and Cherry Springs, PA. It has been a real joy! This scope replaced a 6"F5 Jaegers that I also liked very much! I actually owned both of them for a while! If you like these classic Jaegers refractors you will understand why I have owned two of them!

I'm selling because Steve Swayze has almost finished my 28" mirror and I wouldn't mind having a little extra cash on hand to help pay for it once it is done!

Thanks for your interest and feel free to call me at 703-966-9002 during regular business hours on the east coast. I'll be happy to answer any questions that you might have.
