Meade LX-10 SCT, originally purchased spring of 1999. I am the original owner. I have the original shipping box for the OTA with the foam. I like the scope but have gone to a truss dob.
'Includes all of the original accessories: wedge, tripod, manual, series 4000 26 mm eyepiece, 6X30 finder, hand controller, the 4 allen wrenches etc.
I'm adding:
1. 2 eyepieces that came with my Discovery truss dob, Discovery
(series 500) 40mm and 10mm plossl's
2. a Rigel Quickfinder (mounted) because Meade's finderscope leaves a bit to be desired
3. a perfectly fitted homemade full aperture solar filter made of Baader Astrosolar film (with 1 X 10(-5) light transmission)
4. a bag for the tripod (it's an airline golf bag cover....perfect size)
5. the book "The 20-CM Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope" by Peter Manly

The scope is in great shape, gives good images, tracks well, and hasn't been heavily used. Looking into the OTA in daylight you can see the blemishes (in the coatings) that Meade discusses and explains in the manual, they have no effect on the optical quality. This model is currently for sale but back-ordered at Astronomics, and the scope, specs, and manual can be viewed at the manufacturers website.

I'm asking $750 FIRM, and will travel up to 200 miles from Rochester, NY to meet a confirmed buyer. I won't ship.....too complicated
E-mail me with questions etc, and THANKS for reading
Peter Blackwood
