I have a complete Meade lx10 deluxe setup. Including ota, drive
base, fork arms, field tripod, 8X50 finder, hand controller,
and dec motor. The unit is just under 2 yrs old. Unfortunately..
everything is not in perfect working order! The corrector
plate (along with the secondary) came loose last winter.
The optics are out of alignment now. I replaced the cork around
the corrector, aligned the
corrector (to the best of my ability), and collimated the scope.
But image quality was still subpar. btw, before this unfortunate 'misalignment', the scope
performed VERY well. Mechanically, the ota is fine.
Only one cosmetic flaw worth mentioning...
I removed the fork arms a few times and managed to leave a small paint
scrape on the ota. Oh yeah, on to the mount... The drive runs a bit
too fast. Which can be adjusted rather easily. Instructions for
doing so can be found on the web. Also, the Ra knob tends to slip
and eventually come off. I suspect the tiny teeth inside the knob
are nearly stripped. In a nutshell, I don't have the
time or knowledge to fix the optics nor the money to send it to meade.
Make me an offer! On the whole setup or on individual components.
I'm willing to split stuff up if needed.
And feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks for lookin!
