I am making a life change in the way I take pictures to smaller refractors and have decided to sell my 12" LX200. This scope is 1-1/2 years old and is in excellent shape. The Meade Giant field tripod has been replaced by an ATS aluminum portable pier that provides a better height for viewing, a more stable platform for imaging, and best of all, is easy to pack and transport compared with the Meade tripod. This pier is often sold to support the Paramount or AP mounts. The wedge is a heavily modified meade wedge including stainless steel thrust bearings for altitude and azimuth adjustment as well as re-engineered azimuth point machining in order to eliminate backlash on this plane. The result is a Meade Wedge that you can and will easily polar align. The OTA is pristine and includes the Meade Hard dew shield, 4" losmandy top dovetail, bottom dovetail, complete Losmandy Counterweight system for either of the two dovetails, a JMI focus counter for focus repeatability and an Optec TCFS temperature controlled focuser for autofocus, I also have installed Bob's Knobs to assist with collimating the scope prior to imaging sessions. The picture below shows the complete system setup for imaging with my SBIG ST7E and STV. The ST7E and the STV, nor the ETX90 guidescope are included. I also will include the Meade soft carry case with foam to the buyer. A sale is pending on the ATS Pier, however I would prefer to sell it with the scope. Scope less pier but including the wedge will be $3200.00, price includes the optec, which sells for $900.00!
OR will trade for a TeleVue NP101 with or without RoboFocus. We can work it out! :-)
I have over $7000 invested in this scope and will sell it to a local buyer for pickup for $4000.00. The image of M16 was taken with this scope at F3.3. As you can see, the optics in this scope are outstanding.
