My M703 Deluxe was ordered in January of 2000, and shipped on 3/23/00. It has the optional screw-on baffled dew shield, as well as an optional, illuminated finder vs. the standard, non-illuminated one. It came with the optional interferrometric test report, which is usually another $175, but was included at no charge to close the deal. The test report shows a Peak-to-Valley wavefront error of 1/8.26 wave and an RMS error of 1/35.71 wave! The scope has been used about ten times, and is in excellent condition - the optics have never been cleaned. The only flaw is some worn paint on the OTA where it rubbed against its travel/storage case in transit (the paint on Russan scopes is a bit inferior to paint on instruments of comparable quality from Germany, Japan and the States - in other respects however, it’s equal or superior to its competitors. The metal collimation screws on the finder have been replaced w/ nylon ones (the metal screws marred the paint on the finder tube, but this has been touched up with enamel paint that was color matched by computer). The scope, including dew shield, illuminated finder, a Kellner-type standard eyepiece, 3X barlow, 2" diagonal, piggyback camera bracket, soft-sided travel case and test report sells for $2,570, plus handling - and there is a 2-3 month wait. I will sell mine for $1700.00, plus actual shipping, insurance and packing charges (est. $40-$50 - I don't trust myself to properly pack something like this). PayPal or MO accepted, however buyer pays 3% fee if PayPal is used.
