I'm looking to trade my Galoc's and any or all of the other eyepieces in the photo for a Nagler, Radian, Panoptic or other high end eyepiece in the 10mm to 20mm range -- of course, a Nagler 31mm is always welcome(;
As you aficionado's know, the Galoc's are fine eyepieces. The 28mm Ortho with its recessed eye lens is surprisingly nice -- you'll need a good trade to get me to part with this one. The 16.3mm wide angle is not a Nagler but works well in longer focal length scopes (f/10 is good). And the 10.5mm Ortho is a proven performer for high power, planetary work. For those not familiar with the Galoc's they are heavy, chromed-brass barreled, well made 1 1/4" eyepieces from the 60's - 70's. They do not have threads at the base for filters. The lens caps at the side of the photo are not original and do not quite fit the 28mm eyepiece, but work with the other two.
What can I say about the other eyepieces? They are what they are -- no apologies necessary -- and they are especially handy if you have kids using your scopes. The Orion Plossols are 26mm's.
