I have an Orion 8" dob for sale. Since I'm going to college, I can't keep this big telescope around any longer.

It has a number of modifications, including some velcro on the back for a home-made counterweight (but I don't have any counterweights I can ship), a Rigel Quickfinder instead of a magnifying finder, extra teflon on all moving surfaces, and padding behind the mirror.

It's not in great cosmetic shape, but it's fully functional. The mirror has been center-spotted. There are four small holes in the top front of the tube - two near the front for the original 6x30 finder (not included) and two farther back for an 8x50 finder that I added and later sold (also not included, of course). They're all covered up by electrical tape and it shouldn't affect performance at all.

I'd prefer a local buyer since this thing is a beast to ship, but I can ship it. Shipping will cost $75, which includes all packaging and shipping charges. Otherwise, you can meet me halfway if you're close enough (I live in Stillwater, MN, near St. Paul).

I'm entertaining all reasonable offers. Also note that it doesn't include any eyepieces.
