Though it pains me, the time has come to part with my beloved Takahashi FCT-150. This scope once belonged to Todd Gross and before that it was used by Rob Gendler; it was the subject of a review by Ed Ting on his famous "Scopereviews" web site. I have taken many astrophotos with this wonderful scope and enjoyed some great views through it as well. However, I now have a new RC and between the RC and my FSQ, the FCT is not getting the use it should. This scope deserves to be lovingly used by someone rather than sit in my house and collect dust.
I have the FCT-150, the paperwork for the scope, the 11x70 finder and bracket along with the reticle illuminator, the Takahashi rings, and a custom Losmandy dovetail plate (about 17" long). I am selling it as a package, no splitting.
I am no rush to sell and will just keep it until I get a serious offer. I am asking $11,500, you pay for shipping and insurance of your choice.
This is a rare chance to own a real collector's item and an optical jewel. The scope is in excellent condition with only minor hints of wear and two small cosmetic chips in the dew cap.
The photo below shows the scope on my NJP-160 mount (not for sale). Other photos can be provided upon request.
Thanks for looking,
