I am selling this Byers Series III fully machined declination housing. Actually, it is more of a giveaway at this price.
A Byers Series III mount will cost you $50,000 to $60,000. I am asking a mere $3800 for this casting, and
this INCLUDES the declination shaft (not shown in the photos but it is already made and I can send photos if

I also have two new Byers gears left, an 18"x1"x584t complete with 3.001" clutch, and a 22"x3/4"x738t complete
with a 3.501" clutch. Both gears also include the worm housing, and massive Bodine synchronous motor.

This is all I have, I am no longer going to make this telescope mount, but am using the proceeds to make a
Series IV equivalent. This declination housing would cost at least $10,000 probably more like $20,000 if you
could talk Ed into making one for you, but he is no longer making the larger mounts according to Ed himself.

The declination housing is 20" long and includes a ~5" ID upper ball bearing and ~2.5" lower bearing.

Email if interested in the declination housing, or a gear, or a set including a gear and the housing. I would
sell both a gear and housing for an unheard of price of just $6200 including all shipping (a $150 value).

The gear in this photo is a 20" gear, which gives a good reference of what an 18" or 22" gear would look like.

Email for more info. Or call me at home at 408-262-7628 (evenings/weekends), or at work at 408-822-2529 (weekdays).
