This is a custom made 6 inch F8 Newtonian built ( Fall 1998) by Sky Valley Telescopes (WA state) with stunning optics by master optician Carl Zambuto. Carl made the mirror for me during the Fall of 1998. He polished using "red rouge so that the finish is very smooth, both in micro and macro surface". Carl's full spec document will be provided (.994 Strehl Ratio). The tube is fiberglass and includes the following components: Protostar spider/secondary mirror - 1 inch ma), University Optics primary mirror cell, JMI DX 1 1/4 inch focuser (ultra smooth!), 6 x 30 Celestron finder (behind the included Telrad zero power finder in the photo). The tube can be easily rotated using a very nicely made adjustable strap which tightens using a screw mechanism (underneath the tube in the photo). There is an eyepiece rack (holds 4) attached to the front of the telescope. With six telescopes, I simply have not had a chance to use this telescope very much and more importantly need to develop funds for a bicycle purchase. This scope is in a totally different league from the Orion and Discovery economy grade telescopes. Here is a rare opportunity to own a truly uniquely crafted telescope with Zambuto optics. $ 800.00. I would prefer not to package and ship, but instead will deliver anywhere in the state of Ohio. Additional pictures available to seriously interested buyers.
