I'm selling my last Borg to help pay for my recently acquired Brandon 94.
I've owned both the ED and Achromat versions and I think the review on Starry Nights is too critical of this scope. This scope shows nice detail on Jupiter and tremendous wide field views of deep space.
You get the Borg 76 Achromat with a custom polished aluminum sliding dew cap. The tube is the rare Borg metallic gray finish. Very nice. The 80mm OD metal tube has a standard 1/4-20 tripod block. Please note you get the model 7427 T-helicoid focuser (smaller and lighter) instead of the usual model 7835 helical focuser. You also get the combination turret/flip mirror that accepts four 1.25" eyepieces and allows straight-through viewing or photography. The straight through port is
1.25" or 2". You also get a 3" OD extension tube for the slide focuser, a 2" extension tube, both 1.25" and 2" visual backs, and
an adapter that will accept a T-ring.
The Baader Solar filter is in a machined aluminum cell with case.
The photo was taken by a Japanese amateur with this same model but using the Borg field flattener (model 7784). It is a 30 minute exposure on Kodak Pro400PPF at f/6.8. I think it shows what this lens
is capable of.
Everything is in excellent condition. The lens is clean with no scratches. Priced to sell at $325 + shipping. (My last Borg sold in 10 minutes on Astromart.)
(Camera, tripod, field flattener, T-Ring and eyepieces are not included.)
