Microtek E3 Plus Scanner for sale, $40 obo. + shipping. Includes
Adaptec SCSI card, cable, installation instructions and CD of software.
This is a one pass color flatbed SCSI scanner. I've used it infrequentlyly
to scan in astrophotos and pictures for my astronomy club's web site.
The reason I am selling is that it uses an Adaptec SCSI adapter that
is not compatible with today's high speed buses, and the machine it's
currently on, a 90 MHz Pentium, is soon to be replaced. Rather than
buy a new SCSI card, I'm buy a new scanner.
This is a great scanner for an older machine (such as you might use
in an observatory), as the SCSI card makes scanning much faster than
a parallel port scanner. Or an ATM might want it for parts (linear
slide with motor and drivers capable of 1/600" resolution, etc.).
