4-inch f/1000mm Takahashi doublet fluorite apochromat. Made in 1990, this was a dedicated line of refractors for Japanese and European planetary observers and never ment to be sold in the United States. Using the method of long focal lenght combined with unmatched CaF2 and multi-coatings, the FC-100N will par along side the Nikon 102ED, Pentax 100 SDs, TMB-100, TMB-105, and NP-101. This is quite a step above the FS-102, FC-100, Vixen 4-inch fluorites, or AP-102 Starfire. Remember that this is not a run-of-the-mill apochromat. This was solely made for an upper-class Japanese planetary club known as "Newton Star Seeker". Not only was the refractor manufactured to Takahashi's extensive standards, but to the optical favor of the planetary members themselves!
The FC-100N is a very historical and rare refractor. And to my correction upon my past ads, there are fewer than 100 of these telescopes in circulation and/or safekept in the world. $2430 with shipping and insurance in the U.S. Comes with Telrad, Takahashi 6x30 finder and bracket, and focusing adapters. All in 9++ condition.
