This Cave Astrola was made in the early 70's by Thomas Cave for Murray Cragin co-author of "The Deep Sky Field Guide to Uranometria".
It is in original condition, except for the addition of a JMI DX3 focuser, and has the original Pancro coatings on the mirrors. To say the mirror is awesome would be an understatement, even with the 30 year old coatings!
Heavy duty everything!
Fiberglass tube with cast aluminum end rings!
Rotating rings (very convenient)!
Finder scope!
Tube weight!
Solid 18 point mirror cell!
Astrola mount with dual axis gears!
1.5 inch shafts with 3 counterweights!
6" setting circles!
Original Mount Wilson drive corrector!
Riser box, tool box, and wrenches!
Photos of scope were taken at the recent Mid-Atlantic Star Party. The photo of Saturn was taken with this scope on Jan. 30, 2002 using a $50.00 web camera.

$2,800.00 Prefer not to ship, but will drive and meet half way within reason.
