**** SOLD ****

I'm selling my University Optics 80mm refractor, an f/6.25 scope made with E.D. glass. I'm asking $375 (U.S. shipping included), but I'll consider all reasonable offers.

This scope has been described as a "semi-apo". It shows some color on Jupiter, but it's not obvious. There's a definite color fringe on the rim of the moon, but otherwise the views of the moon are very nice.

There are some minor scratches on the tube, but overall the cosmetics are very good, and the optics are fine.

There are reviews of this scope on the web, on the excelsis web site and also on Todd Gross' site. (In fact I bought this scope from Todd, and I think this is the unit he reviewed.) Email me if you need the urls.

The focuser includes 2 interchangeable screw-on backs, for 1.25" or 2" accessories. Includes a detachable (currently detached) base plate with three 1/4"-20 mounting holes, for finding the right balance point on a tripod. I'm also including a pair of oversized mounting rings from Orion that I have padded with felt to make them fit.

Also includes a solar filter, and a nice wooden case made by a previous owner. The solar filter has some red marks on it, from some sort of magic marker. An earlier owner thought there were imperfections in the filter and tried to "repair" them this way. It looks odd, but doesn't seem to affect the views of the sun.

Shipping is included within the continental U.S., other buyers pay shipping costs. I accept PayPal, cashier's checks and money orders.

(Please note: does not include diagonal, eyepieces, finder, mount, or anything else not mentioned.)

Thanks for looking!
