EDIT: I'm not sure why this isn't spoken for yet. To show you its performance as an astrograph, visit AstroBin for my name "Randy Pfeiffer" and the image "Virgo galaxies". It received a Top Pick from AB, giving a critical third-party evaluation of the telescope's performance. The SHO and broadband Rosette images are also by the 150ED. I hope this inspires someone, but at the same time, I realize this pairing isn't for everyone. I'm now willing to sell the Gemini for $3000. If someone purchases it, I'll remove this ad and post the Esprit in its normal configuration. If you'd like the 150ED in its normal config, it's $4000 and I'll repost the Gemini. Thank you! Randy

EDIT 2: Esprit 150ED pending sale. Reducer and Gemini still available, $350 and $3000 respectively. Open to discussion on Losmandy dovetails and Optec extension set.

EDIT 3: Esprit 150ED no longer pending sale. The Esprit and Gemini can be purchased individually, but the reducer won't be sold until the 150ED is sold, giving the buyer the option of including the reducer. The ups and downs have been difficult... if you make a reasonable offer, it will probably be accepted. Randy

EDIT 4: Esprit 150ED and reducer sold. Gemini and accessories will appear in new ad. If you want to act early, send me a PM.

Before I break up this wonderful telescope into components for individual sale, I thought it would be good to offer it as the astrograph it currently is. The optics have impressed me tremendously since I bought it and continue to provide excellent APs and visual experiences. About 18 months ago I equipped it with an Optec Gemini focuser, which brought it to a far higher level of focusing accuracy and provided rotation as well.

Its native FL is 1074mm at f7.07 with filters in place. With the 150ED-specific reducer, it operates with a FL of 813mm at f5.35 with filters for a 2 degree FOV. It's imaged a wide array of objects in RGB and SHO, including nebulae, galaxies and comets. It was fast enough to capture 30s subframes of Comet A3 to make nice videos and detailed HDR looks at the comet's head. Its paint is excellent, the OTA having only two blemishes from the dew shield thumb screws. The dew sheild has 4 very small scratches and is a bit loose, so I've set up a keeper ring with silicone tubing so it doesn't slide putting on the light panel for flat frames, in the last photo and part of the package.

I'm selling this because I bought a CDK14 and the 150ED doesn't have a wide enough field to nicely complement the CDK. A smaller SVX140-T with its Nitecrawler 3.5 now gives me that field of view, so this superb telescope is offered for sale. At present, the telescope alone has a new price of $6999 and the reducer is $500. For $250 less, you also get the Gemini focuser ($3600), extention tub set ($195), and two Losmandy 14" dovetail plates ($90 each). Standard 150ED accessories are included: field flattener, diagonal, finder scope, carrying case, miscellaneous adapters and original visual back.

Please let me know if you're interested. If it doesn't sell, it will re-appear piecemeal in the future. Cash preferred, checks and MOs are OK but must clear before shipment, PP fine if you add 3% for fees. Will meet you "nearby" for direct transfer if reasonable. Shipment to CONUS will be from Portal, AZ if you want to check rates. Expect two packages, telescope and Gemini, about 70 pounds and 20 pounds. Thank you for looking!
