FOR SALE-Questar Standard 3.5

This Questar Standard 3.5 (Serial Number 2-4889-BB) was manufactured in 1964. It has just undergone a significant upgrade to the optics as well as having had the Quester Standard Service* performed on it. All the optical components have been replaced with a new Pyrex mirror with MFG2 coatings, a new corrector plate and front lens cell. The optics are now 1/8 wave and are identical to that of currently available new models.

Included are the following items. They are:
  • Questar Standard with Moon map on barrel with optional finder solar filter and clock drive
  • Lens Cap
  • Dew Cap with Star Chart
  • Leather Case. The case shows some expected wear, but is solid and strong. No key
  • Table Top Leg Set
  • Off Axis Solar Filter
  • Power Cord
  • 40-80X Adjustable Eyepiece
  • Original manual
  • Original optics set which was replaced
  • Documentation of all recent work performed
  • Shipping Barrel

The telescope is optically, mechanically and cosmetically in pristine condition. The cost of the recently completed optics upgrade and Standard Service was in excess of $2,100. Further, Questar described the telescope with it recent work and upgrades as like new.

Price is $3,300.   Shipping $50 in lower 48.  The scope will be shipped well packed in a shipping barrel inside a well padded box indentical as done by Questar when shipping from New Hope, PA.

The asking price for this telescope is well below that of a new one which costs ~$6,400

I will deliver or meet within 150 miles of Boston.
